Our learning muscles

Hi guys welcome back to my blog. Today I will be blogging about our learning muscles. In this blog post you will learn lots of different things like what learning muscles are, how many learning muscles are there and lots more. I have chosen to do this blog post because we have been learning lots about learning muscles and I have been using them a lot.

In rimu we have been learning about learning muscles. Learning muscles are 17 different muscles in your brain. You use them for lots of different things. I use our learning muscles in learning task time, during home time and in lots more places.

The learning muscles or have different group known as Resilience, Reciprocity, Resourcefulness and Reflectiveness. Resilience means to be ready, willing and also to be able to get focused on your learning. Reciprocity means being ready, willing and able to learn alone but still be with others.  Resourcefulness means being ready,willing and able to learn in lots of different ways. Reflectiveness means being ready willing and able to be more strategic about your learning. The learning muscles are really helpful and sometimes you don't even know that you have been using your learning muscles.

 Now here is what the learning muscles are called. In Resilience there is Managing distractions, absorption, perseverance, noticing meaning. In Reciprocity there is imitation, interdependence, collaboration, empathy and listening. Then in  Resourcefulness there is capitalizing, reasoning, imagining, questioning and making links. And last but not least in Reflectiveness there is Distilling, meta-learning, revising and planning.

Agent Sara the monkeys diary

CHAPTER 1

FINDING A MYSTERY

“Hello my name is agent Sara the monkey I am looking for a mystery to solve but the other monkeys won’t help me so here I am wandering around and looking for a mystery.”

Agent Sara the monkey Mysteries solved “I haven’t solved any mysteries yet but later on I will. The mysteries I want to solve is a Missing ring, a missing cat, a missing banna, a missing toilet, a missing tree, a lost monkey, a missing playground and more I just haven’t figured out more I really want to be a good agent and become famous.” Habitat “I live in a house in the jungle the other animals think it’s weird to live in a house but I think that it’s more better to live in a house then it is out there besides if I lived out there where will all my work go?”   Friends “I do not have monkey friends I have other animal friends and they are Zack the duck, Ella the elephant, Jay the jaguar, Wolfy the wolf and lots more I just have not seen them in a while so I don't know there names.”

“Right now I am in the jungle park having a lunch break and after this I will keep finding mysteries but I am getting tired so I better have a little snooze in my comfortable bed with my agent blanky. I’LL see you latter by my diary.”

CHAPTER 2

wHEN I WOKE UP

“Wow that was a big snooze What's this note on the door it’s from my friend Zack the duck it says”

Dear Sara Hello I hope you get this message it’s really important. My pond has a big crocodile in it and I need your help can you get this crocodile out it’s eating my house can you please help me. P.s I’m at my new pond by my mums pond. Your sincerely Zack

“Don't worry Zack I’m on the way I’m going to become a real Agent my dream has come true. I hope I get a shiny metal so that I can hang it on the wall I saved for when I get one. So I went off to Zacks pond In my banana boat there's a big Lake to his house so I need to bring my boat.  Off I went it was a big trip”.

CHAPTER 3

THE MISSION

“Finally I made it that was a long ride but I got to be quick there's an important job that needs to be solved” . Off I go. “Oh no” I said “that looks like a big crocodile how did it get there? Okay the first thing we need to do is figure out a way to get him out then we have to put together your house”. So me and Zack thought of a very good way to get the crocodile out and Zack came up with a very good idea. “Ok so one animal has to go in and get the wood then put it under the crocodile then we can get the rope wrapped around the tree and tie the wood together then we can get the other rope wrapped around the other tree and wrap it around the wood and then we all pull the crocodile out” said Zack. So we all did what Zack said it was very hard but we got the crocodile out. “Good job everyone there is just one more thing to do and that is put Zacks house together” I said “And I know just the way to do it let's take all the wood that is under the crocodile out and find a piece and put Zacks house together like a puzzle” and that is what we all did it was hard work but we got Zacks house back together and we finished the mission all together. “Wow great work everyone you did a fantastic job”

CHAPTER 4

THE GOLD MEDALS

The mission was over and I got to go home and get ready for tomorrow. “Here I am at home I better put my banana boat away and head back to bed” I said proudly. “That was a very tough job and I’m glad that we all got it done as a team that was fun” I said feeling very proud of myself. I think that my mail box is full so I better go and see what’s inside”. So I went off and looked inside my mail box. Out popped party string and right in front of my eyes I saw gold shining so bright it looked like the sun. “ This is a dream come true” I said surprised. “I can also see an thank you note what does it say” I opened the note and this is what the note said.

Thank You Sara Thank you Sara for helping me get that nasty crocodile out and putting my house back together it was a real duty so I am proud to say that you are now a real agent you will be taking harder missions now. I just want to say thank you one more time you made me happy and you made me think that you were a true friend.Thank you Sara you are a very good person. From Zack

I chose to write about this because I love little adventures and I thought it would be fun to write about it. My favourite part about my story is when she made her dream come true because she always wanted to be a agent and she now is.

My Passion Project

Hello and welcome back to my blog. My name is Rain and today I am going to be blogging about my passion project. A passion project is something you would like to learn more of or you would like to know how to do it.

I chose to do my Passion Project about rabbits because I do not know that much fact about them and I want to know more. Here is my slideshow.

Describe your passion project. What was your learning in it? What were you trying to produce?

I was learning about rabbits or bunnies because I do not know  much about them and I really want to know more about them. I was trying to to produce my passion project with a slideshow and I did get it done.

How far did you get with your passion project? What would have helped you to get further?

I did finish my passion project so I did get far but if I did not finish my passion project to get further I would manage my distractions and sit by the right people.

What was the most challenging part of your passion project?

My most challenging part of my passion project would be finding facts and finishing slides. Because some facts I could not understand and finishing the slides were hard because there was not enough facts.  

What was surprising about your passion project?

I was surprised that there are lots of different facts about rabbits that I did not know so I was glad that I could find facts.  

Did you follow your plan well? Why or why not?

I think I followed my  plan well but in  some parts I think I did not. Because I think there were parts that I did not follow and there were parts I did follow.

Which learning muscles did you use the most while you were working on your passion project? How did you use each one?

I mostly used absorption in the quiet room and by myself in passion project time. I also used perseverance a lot when I was trying to get a slide done it would take forever and that's when I started using perseverance.

Matariki

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to be blogging about our matariki day on Tuesday. There were lots of workshops and we had to choose three of them. The three I chose was matariki story, rock painting I forgot the name of it and zumba.


My favourite would be zumba because it was exercising and very fun. I also liked the moves they were very fun to do and some moves were hard. There were lots of cool songs that I liked. The lady that took it was very good and I had plenty of fun doing zumba. 



My second favourite is the matariki story because we got to paint but we only painted the background and I love painting. I had some problems, that was when I was nailing and I got stuck in the learning pit but I managed to get out.



When it was lunch time we all walked into the hall you could smell and see the beautiful food that the Rory, Eva and Aston cooked. We sat down and had a little something to eat then we had to all listen to the teacher, then wait for our gender and year group to be called so that you can go up and collect your delicious food. The fish pie and the floaters were delicious the all tasted yum.

I am proud of this because I worked hard and done my personal best.

My biggest challenge was coloring it in because I did not know what colors to color it in.

I have decided to do my bio poem because I was really proud of myself and I think I did well so I have chosen to do my iProud. If you read my bio poem you learn lots of different things about me.


For our bio poem we had to all go to the mat and we had to do all the things the teacher said we had to do we could not just sit there and start dong it we all had to do it together. First we had to right or name at the top. Then we missed one and moved on to the next you had to write you sibling if you had one. Then you write your mum and your dad after that you write on your computer what you love and I love lots of things. when you have finished that we had to write your fears then we had to write down what you need. When you have finished that, you write what you wish for and what or who would you like to see. After that you write what you give, your citizen and then you can write your last name. But remember you are not finished you still have to that last thing that we skipped and that is three things you think you are like kind, shy or funny.

My reading task

Hello and welcome back yo my blog today I am going to be blogging about my reading task. I have chose to do this for my blog post because I have worked on my reading task for a long time and I think that I did a great job. 



For our reading task we have to make a puppet the puppet that we are making is a glove puppet and we also had to put on a show we could also do it with a buddy if we wanted my buddy is Naomi. First we had to write down all of the things we need. Then we write down a list of the things that are not on the art trolley. After that we had to write down a script and make the puppets for the show it took a long time.


My favourite part of my reading task is doing the script because I like writing scripts. In the puppet show we are doing a tall tale so it is not the exact same as the real one. When we found out that for our reading task we have to make puppets Mrs Love also said " That we cant make the puppet show to easy and it cant be to hard " so me and Naomi my buddy went to go on a table and thought of a puppet show that we can do that is not  to easy and not to hard and then we thought of a great idea we can do little red riding hood. The characters are Little Red Riding Hood that is Naomi she is also Gran and I am the Wolf I am also the wood cutter. 


My second favourite part is making the puppets because it is very fun to make with all the materials that we had and drawing around or hand was fun I really enjoyed making the puppets.

Hi I am little red riding hood but they call me little red. I am going to take some blueberry muffins to my gran who is sick. My mum told me to not talk to any strangers especially wolfs because gran lives on the other side of the woods. Here I go.lalalalalalalalalalalalalalala.

Off goes little red riding hood singing through the woods. On her way there she met the wood cutter.

Naomi(little red)

I’m good wood cutter , I’m just going to deliver some blueberry muffins to gran she has a bad cold you know.

My learning in Rimu hub this year

Hi my name is Rain and today I am going to be blogging about my learning in Rimu hub.This year I have three teachers and my teachers are Mr Moriarty Mrs Love and Mrs Carr. Our class has three home rooms but we share the learning space like one big classroom. In our class we have 4 trusted spaces this is how the trusted learning space works the people who got a postcard or a certificate they get to chose who to work with in the trusted space but the teachers chose what trusted space there is all a maximum of people that can work in the trusted learning space and if your not good you get kicked out.

There is also a silent room it is a space where you can work but you have to be quiet and if your not you get sent out and you cant go back in for the rest of the day. We also have learning buddy's and learning buddy groups my learning buddy Tyla Smith and the people that are in my learning buddy are Aston and Luke I like my learning buddy group because they help me finish my learning tasks and they ask me if I need help. So far I have learnt a lot of things from the workshops I have learnt where to put full stops I have learnt how to add fractions and I have also learnt what a ratio is but there is way more things that I learnt. 

This year as a year four it has been different so I have tried a lot harder than I have to get all my learning task done we have them for about three or four weeks and then we have Friday fun day I haven't got to Friday fun day yet but I know that one day I will get to Friday fun day. This year I have also made some new friends they are very nice and helpful people that I know I would tell you there names but there are too much. This year I have also settled in Rimu hub very well and I have made a good start for the year it is very exciting to be in Rimu hub this year with all the year fives fours and sixes and it also makes it a lot easier to learn with all there help from them. 

My favourite thing to do in class is my must do's because there good to get you thinking and there good to get you working right now my favourite must do is my happy poem I think I did a great job. One thing that I am very excited about is parent interviews because my parents can see all the wonderful things I have done and the things I have not quite reached the goal at but I will still be happy but most of the time when it is parent interviews I get a bit shy and don't talk but I still like interviews. 

We have this tracking sheet it is when you have the must do's on the top row and going down the side is your name you have to find you name and you also have to find the must do it is and from that must do go down to your name and there will be a little box in that box you have to make a link but before you go on the tracking sheet you have to go on the must do that your putting on the tracking go up to your shortener make and click on the word that says copy then go back on the tracking sheet make a link in the box you need it to be in and press the button that has a ctrl that is short for control and press v at the same time and it will come up with a lot of different numbers and words then you go to the top of the link where it says text and write what your must do is and then the teachers will cheek it if it is red the link doesn't work if it is orange you need to read your feed back and make some changes if it is green you are totally finished but if it is white it needs to be checked. 

We have also started to make our house chant I am in hoiho we got to chose one thing to keep we don't actually have our real house leader but I think that the leaders for now are great. I think that the chant that we have is great it is one of the best chants I have ever heard and seen.
